Radio was a happy accident that started out as guest appearances, progressed to a side gig and became my full-time position in April 2013. I have led shows in both morning and afternoon drive-time slots, and conducted weekly interviews with Pete Carroll. I've hosted events on location with a live audience and even played a role in our news station’s live-radio Christmas special.
Covered the Seahawks specifically, the NFL in general and focused on longform feature writing and enterprise stories in the offseason. I covered breaking news as a beat reporter, but I'm proudest of the feature stories I reported and wrote, especially those that merited honorable mention in the 2011 and 2013 editions of "The Best of American Sportswriting."
Covered the Seattle SuperSonics as beat reporter from 2002 through 2005, traveling for on-site coverage of away games and league events such as the All-Star Game. Switched to the Seattle Seahawks beat in 2005.
Hired to cover high-school sports as a three-year intern, a program later renamed a residency. Promoted to full-time staff reporter in October 2001.
Started as a summer intern, accepted a full-time role in October 1997 and relocated to Bristol, Conn., as the online newsroom shifted to the television network's headquarters.
